Utopian, Idealistic… Major Paradigm Shift… ![]() I am in the process of writing the chapter in my first book on Change Management and am actually having fun. Having fun writing about change management... Strange, eh? I am excited to see the impact it could have on companies who adopt my suggestions.
Here are a couple of excerpts... "SOX requires that process owners and management approve of any changes to the process and make sure the change is appropriately approved and documented. This includes both changes to the processes as well as any changes to the related controls. The process owners should be intricately involved in ANY decisions that impacts changes to their process. This includes changes to the manual part of the process as well as manual controls. It also includes changes to the system-driven (automated processes) part of the process as well as the system-driven part of the controls (application controls). Are you starting to see where I am headed with this…??? What I am suggesting is a major paradigm shift in how companies view change management. Change management should be ‘owned’ by the process owners and would include both changes to the manual processes and controls as well as changes to system-driven processes and controls." Here's to some day getting getting this darn thing finished and published. Writing a book is like running a marathon... A long, arduous, tedious, painful process that will hopefully give me the great feeling of accomplishment and be worth all the pain I'm enduring Regards, Jeff 2009-01-16 03:21:47 GMT
